Welcome to the Kootenay Auction.net Help Desk. In this section, you can find answers to frequently asked questions. If you have a question that is not addressed here, please email us at denise.press@pattisonmedia.com
Kootenay Auction.net Info:
Kootenay Auction.net is operated by 102.9 Rewind Radio and WILD 1047 in Cranbrook, BC.
How do I get started?
To bid on an item, you must register first. You must be 19 years or older to bid.
Register early! Do not leave your registration to the last moments of the auction as you may be disappointed; the system requires enough time to receive your registration and validate your e-mail address before you can bid.
Click on the "Register" button and enter your personal information. Please fill in all required fields.
A credit card is not required to register; however, by registering, you agree to provide your credit card information when requested by the administer of our site if, at any given time, your total leading bids cause your account to be flagged.
You must have a valid e-mail address, as we will email you a registration letter, which you will have to open and click on the link enclosed to activate your account.
If two people in the same household both want to bid separately on auction items, they must register separately with two different e-mail addresses. Each person can register only once with the same email address. You cannot register twice (different usernames) using the same e-mail address.
Once you have registered and received the registration letter to activate your account, you can begin bidding.
How do I find items that I might like to bid on?
There are two methods to find items. You can browse through the auction categories to see if there are any items of interest to you, or you can enter a keyword in the "Search" section on the site. Sometimes items are added after the auction has gone LIVE so continue to browse the Business or category sections.
My Watch List
You can create a list of items in which you are interested. All the items in the auction have a link to the "My Watch List". As you are browsing, you can add the items that interest you to your watch list. This makes it easier to track your favorite items.
How do I bid?
Click on the item of interest and follow the directions on the screen. All bids are final. Ensure your bid is correct. Your bid is a binding contract to purchase the item.
Can I retract a bid once it has been placed?
No, please bid carefully. You cannot retract a bid once it is placed.
You are responsible for each bid you place on each item. Please double check all bids before confirming them.
What is the Five-Minute Rule?
Each item has a designated closing time. If there is a bid in the previous 5 minutes prior to close, the item will remain open until no one has bid for 5 minutes. The 5-Minute Rule can extend well beyond the designated closing time if bids continue to be placed. This five-minute rule is like the “going once, going twice” in a live auction setting where bids can be made until the auctioneer says SOLD.
Maximum Bid Feature:
Kootenay Auction.net has a Maximum Bid feature included in the auction that allows you to bid on an item and include a maximum bid for the item (the maximum bid amount must be entered at the same time you are placing a bid). This maximum bid will automatically place bids at the minimum bid increment ($5) on the item should anyone outbid you in the future, up until you reach your maximum bid. For example, if you bid $100 on an item, and place a maximum bid of $175, and someone outbids your $100 bid by bidding $110 on the item, then an automatic bid of $115 will be placed on that item on your behalf. Should you be outbid again, an auto bid will be placed on your behalf until you reach your $175 maximum bid.
What if I am the successful bidder on an item?
If you are the high bidder when the item closes, you will receive a notification by e-mail.
The Master List:
In the event of any discrepancy, Kootenay Auction.net’s Master List shall prevail. Winning bidders will be notified by e-mail at the close of each auction item; any errors or omissions in the winners' postings are subject to the final winning bidders' Master List.
How do I pay for my items?
Upon full completion of the Kootenay Auction.net on Wednesday, November 20th, an invoice will be emailed to each winning bidder compiling all items won during the auction and all applicable taxes. A secure payment link via our trusted partner Bambora.com / Worldline Payments is available for use with VISA, VISA Debit, Mastercard or Mastercard Debit.

In the case of some items, you will receive a Proof of Purchase Certificate that you will need to take with you to pick up your item from the sponsor business. Shipping or delivery arrangements must be made with the sponsor business. Any shipping or freight charges are the responsibility of the bidder and not included in the auction final selling price.
Do any charges get added to our auction bid if we win?
As per Federal and Provincial Tax laws, all applicable taxes will be applied the same way they would apply if you were to purchase the item directly from the supplying business.
When does the auction close?
Kootenay Auction.net ENDS November 20th.
The items will close over the course of five days: November 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20, 2024 starting at 5:00pm nightly. Check each item to determine its specific closing date and time. Note: All closing items are subject to the Five-Minute Rule.
